The Budget Day – a common man’s appeal

No election, no war
not even a cricket play
next thing that gets the nation together
is the National Budget day!

Will the govt deliver this time?
there already has been much pain
expectations left high & dry
don’t want more in any other name

When you present the budget this time…Mr Minister

As you stand to tally
the nations’ revenues and expenses
here are a few thoughts
that might appeal to your senses

No new programmes,
or new doles
just press the accelerator
and let the good ones roll

Empower the common citizen
build the bridges
bring on the high speed rail
shine the tourist places

Lift the poor
give a helping hand
make the entrepreneurs
the pride of the land

ON Personal Taxes…Mantriji

The common man is tired
of playing the tax game
rest the space between his eyes
allow the tax outflow to tame

Increase the tax slabs
cut the sundry concessions
this is the best recipe
from all dimensions

Revenues will soar
compliance would rise
black money too will
get a silent demise

Finally…

We understand, whatever you do
will have its heads and its tails
but we hope you make it a day when
the ship of the economy firmly sets to sail.
